I've come to believe that the average Christian experiences an uncomfortable "disconnect" (or separation) between the SECULAR and the SACRED. I further believe that the effort of trying to keep the two disconnected is not only exhausting, it is actually CONTRARY to our assignment to share Christ's love.
Think about it. For us to take the simple elements of life - a love song, a baseball game, an honest day's work - and separate them from the SACRED, is to deny God's ability to move and work through them. If we do that, we also deny God any glory He may get from them. FURTHERMORE, when we refuse to allow God to intervene into ALL areas of life, we make the church IRRELEVANT to society - which is precisely what we do NOT want! We must be able to connect and relate with the society around us, because the world is looking for(and unable to find) the true love and purpose we possess.
Unfortunately, the common tendency of us in the church is to withdraw into our own cloistered community RATHER than interact with a scary, sinful world. I'm convinced that most believers see the world COMPLETELY DIFFERENT than God does. We tend to see the world as a terrible monster coming to devour our children, while GOD sees billions of lost and dying souls for whom He sent His Son.
Could it be that we need to stop feeling responsible for straightening up the world? Could it be we simply need to demonstrate that genuine LOVE and FORGIVENESS actually do exist by displaying love and forgiveness in our own lives? In John 13:35, Jesus said, "By this all men will know you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." Well, how will the world of lost sinners see or be aware of this "love for one another" if we refuse to enter SECULAR society and demonstrate it in full view of the sinners Christ died for?
Jesus Christ left SACRED heaven to enter SECULAR society. Not only am I grateful that He did so, I'm also committed to following His example and encouraging others to do the same.

My first blog
I'm not known for my blogs. In fact, I'm not known TO blog. Alright...the truth is I have never blogged. Until now. This is my very first blog........at least I think it is. Maybe I've blogged before without knowing it. To be honest, I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT A BLOG IS! So....am I blogging right now? I hate to admit it, but I really don't know.
It would probably be smart to do a little research to find out if this "blogging" thing is good or bad.....wise or foolish.....righteous or sinful......masculine or feminine.......up or down.....in or out.......over or under.......legal or illegal.......moral or immoral.........HEY! THIS COULD GET SERIOUS! To make sure I don't get into trouble, I'd better find out just what a blog is.

- A blog (a contraction of the term "web log") is a type of website, usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order. "Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog. Many blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject; others function as more personal ONLINE DIARIES. (Wikipedia)
Well......okay. With this info, I at least know WHAT a blog is and HOW it's usually used. So the questions I must now answer are: (1) Is it wrong to blog? (2) Is it wrong for ME to blog? (3) Should I blog? (4) Am I too old to blog? (5) Am I even interested in blogging? and most importantly: (6) WILL I actually become.....a BLOGGER?
